BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Job Description
1. Responsibilities
A. Business Growth and Strategy:
– Taking a leading role in developing Company’s Strategic plan and Business plan,
– Collaborate with other departments to develop comprehensive business plans (Marketing & Sales plans), and employ strategies to execute them,
– Develop and implement strategies to achieve Company objectives by ensuring the overall growth of the loan portfolio and insurance business,
– Collaborate with other Managers to annually review the Company lending policy and procedures in order remain competitive,
– Quarterly conduct review of the strategies and their implementation to determine their impact in revenue growth.
– Collaborate with the Credit and Risk Manager to ensure prudent risk management practices are maintained.
B. Growth of the Customer Base:
– Develop and implement tactics and plans to grow and maintain the customer base of the Company for profitable business operations.
– Oversee marketing and sourcing new insurance customers and maintain an excellent renewal rate of expiring policies to grow insurance business,
– Oversee marketing and sales of the loan customers to grow a profitable and quality loan portfolio,
– Develop and review company products and processes to meet market demands.
– Customer relationship management: proactively engage with customers to understand their evolving needs and preferences.
C. Operational Excellence:
– Oversee the generation of related reports and ensure accurate data analysis to support decision-making.
– Continuously improve business practices as per the Company’s policies and procedures, particularly lending policies and procedures.
D. Marketing and Sales:
– Plan and oversee marketing initiatives to drive sales and revenue of the Company.
– Identify and develop new markets, improving sales channels and market penetration.
– Develop sales proposals for prospective clients and play an active role in business development.
E. Leadership and Team Development:
– Set team goals for business growth, and support team members to execute business strategies in order to achieve individual performance objectives, and so company desired performance.
– Coach and Mentor subordinates to develop necessary skills and competencies, in order to enhance personal and company growth,
– Conduct judicious performance reviews and guide subordinates to achieve excellence.
– Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the business development function.
Requirements
1. Knowledge, Skills & Behavior:
– Solid understanding of lending and insurance operations.
– Strong knowledge of regulations and legislative requirements in the lending and insurance industry.
– Financial skills and the ability to make business projections for the company’s future.
– Strong sales and marketing skills.
– Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
– Sound knowledge of governance and ethical leadership abilities.
– Customer-oriented mindset with outstanding people skills.
– Problem-solving attitude and the ability to operate both within and outside the established operating policies and procedures for improving efficiency and minimizing risk.
2. Experience
– At least 5 years of experience in microfinance Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Business management or related field.
– Solid experience in Sales management and creating new market opportunities.
3. Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Microfinance Management, or any other closely related field.
– Certification from a recognized Financial Management and/or Insurance body is an added advantage.
